I made this dragon costume for a client who will give it to a grandson. I used fabrics from Timeless Treasures and combined Simplicity and McCalls patterns. The hoodie dragon applique design comes from Sweet N Sassy Designs.

Look closely at the tail - it's stuffed with fiber fill!
All interior seams are serged to prevent fraying.
The wings are sewn into the seams of the sleeves so they'll stay anchored to the costume and still allow for full range of motion of the arms.
The hood is attached with snaps so the body of the costume can be washed. (it's expected that the child will wear this often as he loves to play dragon.)
Just for fun, I attached red fabric sleeves to party blower toys so the little boy can blow "flames"!
